Some people say nowadays big cities are all alike. Most have theatres, art galleries, great restaurants and international hotels ... and you can argue London's are the best in the world. But what really makes London so excitingly different is the weird, the wacky and the oddball... funny little museums, amazing architecture... and, last but not least, the people.
The Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art

Many of London's most remarkable museums and unusual collections are the result of one person's enthusiasm - some might say obsession. Take Sir Percival David, collector and scholar, who dedicated much of his life to Chinese ceramics, before leaving his collection to the nation. The Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art houses the finest collection of imperial Chinese ceramics outside China - including famous blue and white porcelain and temple vases nearly 1000 years old.
Fan Museum

The little Fan Museum in Greenwich - the only such museum in the world - displays the lifetime's collection of Mrs Helene Alexander. More than 3,000 fans, dating from 11th century and from all over the globe, are on display in this charming 18th century house.
Saatchi Gallery

The Saatchi Gallery is formed from the collection of one of the most famous names in advertising. Charles Saatchi's creativity became known worldwide - and his collection of art includes the most creative works from cutting-edge young artists. The gallery was the first to show Damien Hirst and commissioned his celebrated pickled shark. Sarah Lucas, Chris Ofili and Rachel Whiteread are just a few of the artists on show who have subsequently achieved international fame.
