Such is their superb command of the English language, Danes are right at home in London so it a bit of a surprise that there are only an estimated 6,000 of them in the capital. Denmark famously shocked the continent by winning Euro '92 and, whilst it may not appear too likely, no-one would completely write off a side that's spearheaded by the wonderfully talented midfield playmaker Cristian Eriksen, admired and coveted by Europe's big teams. That said, the Morten Olsen's Denmark are in a 'group of death' alongside Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands – and any side whose attack is spearheaded by Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner may struggle to get goals.

Our main suggestion for all the Olsen Gang's group games is Fitzrovia's Nordic Bar, a shabby-chic basement drinking den with a penchant for all things Viking. Although Nordic no longer serves the ferociously strong Red Erik beer on tap, there is a selection of traditional Scandinavian tipples, including a range of very drinkable fruit brews, and one shot (amongst many others) called the Danish Bacon Surprise. The kitchen serves up traditional Danish fare, including crayfish tails, meatballs and deep-friend Jarlsberg with lingonberry jam.

Head to Fulham's local Scandi bar Kosmopol for all of Denmark's games in Euro 2012. The chic and modern lounge-style boutique venue is actually Swedish – but it's showing Scandinavian solidarity by screening all of their neighbour's matches too. With a capacity of 70 downstairs and 50 on entry level, Kosmopol is not the biggest of places – so make sure you arrive early to avoid disappointment.

All Scandinavians living and working in London can follow their nation's Euro 2012 games live at the West End's Zoo Bar. Located on a little side road between Leicester Square and Charing Cross Road, Zoo Bar is a no-frills bar with a basement dancefloor and numerous plasma screens and one huge projector screen – making it an ideal venue to watch Denmark and Sweden games. There is a £2 entrance fee but it does include your first beer so there will be Scandi smiles aplenty. To secure a place on the guestlist email guestlist@scandinavianparty.com.
