London's January sales offer some of the biggest bargains on the shopping calendar so make sure you don't splurge it all before Christmas. Before the Boxing Day turkey is washed down with yet more champagne, shopping fiends are on the streets of the West End bargain hunting. The first few days of the sales are a mad rush with crazed shoppers throttling one another over the last cut-price Louis Vuitton handbag. Don't worry though - it's a myth that everything worth buying is gone within the first few days - there are still plenty of deals to be had all the way through January. Fahionistas might baulk at the idea of buying 2006 trends at the beginning of a new year, but if that doesn't bother you, it's possible to refit your wardrobe at a fraction of the usual cost.
