The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) directly connects the London City Airport with Stratford International (for the Olympic site) and Bank Tube station (for central London) where you can change on to Waterloo and City, Northern, Central, District and Circle lines on the Underground. The DLR station is 50 metres from the main terminal and is clearly signposted. London City Airport is the name of the on-site Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station. The nearest Underground station is Canning Town, on the Jubilee Line, which is about 2 miles away. Both provide regular stopping train services into central London.

Trains from London City Airport DLR run every 10 minutes between the hours of 5.30am and 12.30am (7am and 11.30pm on Sundays).

Via Bank
The recommended route to the centre is to take the Docklands Light Railway via Canning Town into Bank, which is on the Central Line. Journey time is 22 minutes. Travellers can then take the Central Line directly into the West End (Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road and Bond Street).
Via Canning Town
The recommended route to the South Bank and centre is to take the Docklands Light Railway directly to Canning Town, and change onto the Jubilee Line into central London. Journey time is just 5 minutes into Canning Town and approximately 15 to 20 minutes into Westminster and Waterloo.
Tickets:
London City Airport is located in Zone 3. If you are travelling after 9.30am a One-Day Travelcard between Zones 1 and 4 gives unlimited travel on London Underground trains, the DLR and buses. Tickets can be purchased at the DLR counter adjacent to the aiport terminal. Ticket machines at the stations accept UK coins and most give change. Some accept UK notes (bills) and credit cards.

If you are travelling out of London, National Rail can provide service information including timetables and routes. The closest National Rail terminus include London Bridge, Waterloo and Stratford International. All three stations can be reached via the Jubilee line from Canning Town which is a seven-minute DLR journey to the airport.

Licensed London Black taxis are available directly outside the Terminal building. A Black Cab taxi holds up to 5 people and can be picked up from outside the airport. To avoid the inevitable queues for taxis, you can book in advance through London Black Cabs. 48-hours notice is required for airport transfers. Flights arrival times are monitored by reservation staff so you do not need to worry about delays to your flight. You will be met outside the customs area by your driver who will assist you in carrying your luggage to the vehicle. London Black Cabs can also arrange your return journey at the time of booking.

Journey time by private taxi or Black Cab into central London is approximately 30 minutes.
Route:
London City Airport is situated just 10 miles (16km) from the West End (the major shopping centre) and Westminster (location of main government offices), six miles (10km) from the City of London (the financial district) and three miles (5km) from Canary Wharf (London's newest business and financial centre). For the City or West End use the A1011/ Limehouse Link road, the A13 and then follow relevant signs.
