Inviting London's cocktail lovers to join in on a big, city-wide party, London Cocktail Week is back for 2019 and it will be celebrating its 10th birthday by expanding from seven to ten days. With over 300 London bars taking part, anyone wearing a special wristband will be able to enjoy £6 cocktails all across town. At the heart of the festival is the cocktail village on Brick Lane where there are more than 35 pop-up cocktail bars along with hands-on cocktail making, immersive experiences, street food and DJs. This year they're also adding a new London Cocktail Week Pop Up on Grape Street in Covent Garden. Just some of the 300 bars taking part are The Ned, Baptist Bar at L'oscar in Holborn, Sartoria's Libare Bar and the Sanderson's Long Bar which hosts a six day residency with award-winning Parisian bar, Le Syndicat. Mayfair bar Kwant welcomes a Latin America fiesta for one night only, The Stratford puts on an Italian pop-up and we get a sneak peek of Daniel Humm's Davies and Brook at Claridge's Bar before it officially opens in November.

On Saturday 5th October 2019, from 9pm until midnight, the multi-award winning team behind NYC bars at The NoMad and Eleven Madison Park take over the bar at Claridge's to host the ultimate London Cocktail Week collaboration. For one night only, Leo Robitschek, Pietro Collina and their team host an exclusive cocktail debut ahead of the opening of Claridge's hotly anticipated new restaurant, Davies and Brook, in November 2019. A Spanish inspired Dirty Martini, Espresso Martini and Celery Fizz, with tequila, sorrel and grapefruit, are just three of the six cocktails that will be on the opening cocktail menu. The Davies and Brook pop-up not only offers a sneak peak into the new Claridge's Bar but also brings modern bartending culture to one of the most historic hotels in the world.

Small is beautiful at the Hendrick's Tini Martini Townhouse, popping up in East London for one weekend only during London Cocktail Week. From micro pianists to tini artists, you'll be immersed in different universes and be taken on a tour of six complimentary martinis mixed by six of the world's best bars. Two bars are showcased each day. On Friday 4th October, New York City's Nomad Bar and Singapore's Manhattan Bar each show their distinctive styles of hotel bar hospitality. Saturday 5th October sees Barcelona's no-frills Two Schmucks paired with Amsterdam's Super Lyan, the first international venue from Mr Lyan. Come Sunday 6th October, Little Red Door from Paris showcases its playful cocktails while Edinburgh's prohibition-style bar Panda & Sons delivers its one-of-a-kind Scottish hospitality. Tickets allow you access for two hours as well as six complimentary martinis.


Experimental Negroni Club

Celebrating 100 years of the Negroni, Henrietta Hotel in Covent Garden has created the Experimental Negroni Club, a month-long pop-up in partnership with Campari. Eight cosmopolitan cities serve as inspiration for eight different variations of the classic cocktail. Each can be enjoyed under the a dazzling light installation suspended below the mezzanine bar's glass ceiling, created by light artist Frankie Boyle. Adding an Italian touch to the experience - the Negroni, after all, originated there - gastronomy collective, the Italian Supper Club, has created a delicious cicchetti menu of typical Venetian appetisers specifically for the occasion.



Australian bartending duo Ryan Noreiks and Rob Libecans mix it up with Ryan Chetiyawardana.

Sitting within the swanky Sea Containers London hotel, Ryan Chetiyawardana's Lyaness welcomes two founding members of Australian cocktail bar, Fancy Free, to London for two nights. Coming to town on 2nd and 3rd October 2019, especially for London Cocktail Week, Australian bartending duo, Ryan Noreiks and Rob Libecans, bring the essence of their cocktail bar to London. They're creating four core ingredients inspired by the state of Victoria, Australia, where Fancy Free hails from. These include Mandarin Sherry which draws influence from Victoria's wine country and Snake Skin, inspired by the Australian outback. Each ingredient will be used to make a Dewar's Scotch Whisky based highball cocktail.

Erik Lorincz's tropical cocktail bar below Momo†kicks off London Cocktail Week by welcoming the top four bars in Latin America for an exclusive takeover of his acclaimed Mayfair Bar,†Kwant. On Sunday 29th September, for one night only, Argentina's Floreria Atlantico and El Presidente bars will be joined by Brasil's Guilhotina bar, Puerto Rico's La Factoria and current Best Bar in Latin America, Licoreria Limantour, from Mexico. Each bar mixes two drinks and the menu is completed by two exclusive Kwant serves, from Lorincz and his team. The perfect place to enjoy a little bit of Latino heat.

On Friday 4th October 2019, the†Libare Bar in Savile Row's†Sartoria†welcomes two of the world's best bartenders: Kris Du of Shanghai's Speak Low bar, and Dario Schiavoni of Beijing's Bvalgari Hotel.†Kris Du, who started his bartending career aged 18, has seen the speak-easy take current seventh position in Asia's 50 Best Bar Awards during his time at Speak Low.†On the night, Kris and Dario will be working side-by-side behind the Mayfair bar, making cocktails inspired by the flavours of Italy and China from†an umami-fied old fashioned to a Shanghai Glamour - a combination of rum, Campari, ruby port and house-made grenadine, topped with Champagne.

Occupying what used to be the Midland Bank headquarters in the City of London, The Ned is a staggeringly beautiful 5-star hotel from the Soho House group. It has nine different restaurants and bars, seven of them in the main banking hall, surrounded by 92 green verdite marble columns and walnut panelling. Here you'll find an American cafe, a New-York-style deli, Parisian cafe, Grill Room and a branch of Cecconi's, the Soho House favourite. Your London Cocktail Week pass gets you a High Tea Spritz - a mix of Grey Goose vodka, Darjeeling liqueur, strawberry syrup and strawberry bitters topped with Prosecco - at Millie's Lounge with its scallop backed dusky pink sofas. Ask for a Nickey Spritz at The Nickel Bar and you'll get a vodka cocktail with coffee amaro, kumquat liqueur and coffee bitters topped with Prosecco for £6 a pop.

Following a major redesign, the bar within The Gilbert Scott restaurant reopened as George's Bar in early 2018. Marcus Wareing's latest tribute to the building's original architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott, the bar sees the chef work in conjunction with David Collins Studio to transform the 19th century surroundings. During cocktail week you can sip on a Panhard et Levassor - a mix of Frapin 1270 Cognac, Fino Sherry, creme de mure, quince syrup, ginger, lemon and apple juice from Marcus' orchard - from the comfort of a low leather booth seat under soaring painted ceilings.


The Long Bar

For a little refinement and an expensive tipple, the Sanderson hotel's 80-foot Long Bar is a very exclusive sanctuary. To coincide with the start of London Cocktail Week (but with each cocktail costing £15, not £6) the bar is hosting a six-day residency by award-winning Parisian bar, Le Syndicat, which was placed in the top 25 of 'The World's 50 Best Bars 2018'. From Tuesday 1st until Sunday 6th October, Le Syndicat's cocktails - influenced by the French couture houses - include the likes of Froggy Style, a spicy yet refreshing mix of Grey Goose vodka, coriander syrup, fresh lemon juice, fresh Granny Smith apple juice, with egg white, a hint of wasabi and popping candy, and the rich Holy Grail made with roasted coffee-infused Christian Drouin Calvados, Vin d'Arbois, Macvin, bitters and a dusting of nutmeg.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the world's largest cocktail festival, The Umbrella Project is collaborating with renowned bars from LA to Liverpool. They're hosting a House Party Series filled with a strong line up of guest DJs, pizza by Yard Sale and carefully curated cocktail menus by guest bartenders. The Sun Tavern in Bethnal Green plays host to Present Company paired with Barcelona bar Two Schmucks on Sunday 6th October. Yael Vengroff, bars director at The Spare Room in Los Angeles, and Christine Wiseman, bar manager at the Broken Shaker in LA, join forces on Monday 7th October. Supernova Ballroom and Rino Yacht Club are behind the bar on Wednesday 9th October while the closing party with Tullamore Dew kicks off at 6pm on Sunday 13th October and goes on until late. Over at sister bar, the Discount Suit Company, Limantour is lining up the drinks on Tuesday 8th October.
