Group G: Brazil, Korea DPR, Ivory Coast, Portugal

Every World Cup there's a Group of Death and this seems to be it. Brazil seem certain to qualify while the Ivory Coast, who were in the last World Cup's trickiest group and failed to progress, should have better luck this time on African soil. Ronaldo, of course, will beg to differ - as will the population of Lambeth and Stockwell. This is the third group which contains teams from four different continents.

Lashings of caiprinhas, cocktails and Brahma beer, a huge screen, cheerleading and freestyle football entertainment - Guanabara is doing its best to put on the best World Cup experience for Brazilian fans in London this summer. The ever popular West End Brazilian bar kicks things off on 10 June with an official launch party with samba batucada music, a special hip-hop guest, capoeira and gorgeous dancing girls, and DJs T & D.Vyzor on the decks. Brazil, as ever, will be considered amongst the favourites to lift the Jules Rimet trophy in Johannesburg on 10 July, but with both Ivory Coast and Portugal drawn in the same group, the Samba Stars are going to have to turn on the style from day one if they're going to progress. Guanabara will be showing all Brazil's games, as well as England's, and each game will be followed by a special Danca & Futebol display of cheerleading and silky skills. With all those caiprinhas flowing, the atmosphere should be something to savour - especially for the mouth-watering clash with Portugal. If you don't fancy venturing into central London, then Old Street's East Village will also be showing all the Canarinho games.

Most Koreans in the UK come from South Korea but the number of North Korean defectors is steadily rising. The south west London suburb of New Malden has an estimated population of 20,000 Koreans, the largest expat community in Europe. Korea DRP don't have much of a history in the World Cup, their only previous appearance coming back in 1966. Only three of their players ply their trade outside North Korea and the chances of the Chollima qualifying from this 'Group of Death' are highly unlikely. That said, expect a good turn out of North Korean fans at The Fountain pub in New Malden. The large beer garden of the gritty roundabout pub usually fills with fans during the World Cup and is particularly popular with the area's local Korean population.

Try as we might, LondonTown couldn't find any Ivorian bars in London and so we'll have to suggest the next best thing. With former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson now at the helm of Ivory Coast, and Sweden not qualified for the tournament, fans of the Elephants could do worse than hit some of London's best Swedish hangouts. Marylebone's The Harcourt Arms has long been a favourite with the Swedish ex-pat community and its smattering of indoor screens and charming beer garden make it an ideal destination for an afternoon of summer sport. Ivory Coast were drawn in the 'Group of Death' back in 2006 and, with both Brazil and Portugal alongside them this time round, things have hardly improved. But in Didier Drogba, the Ivorians have one of the world's leading players, whilst the likes of Salomon Kalou and the Toure brothers means Sven's men cannot be taken lightly in their home continent. For those who live further East, there's a new Swedish rock and roll bar near Liverpool Street called The Pipeline which could be another good bet. For flavours a bit closer to home, you could try The Gold Coast in Brixton which, although an essentially Ghanaian establishment, will no doubt show some loyalty towards a fellow African nation. There's also the Afro Cup Festival at Rich Mix, which will be showing all games during the tournament - but should have a better atmosphere for matches featuring African nations.

Lambeth, and Stockwell in particular, has nearly 30,000 Portuguese ex-pat residents - the largest community outside Portugal - and so there's only one area in London to watch Cristiano Ronaldo perfect his stepovers in South Africa this summer. The lively Bar Estrela on South Lambeth Road has an authentic Portuguese clientele that crowd around the two mounted televisions whenever the national side - or Porto - are in action. The area is know as Little Portugal and is also home to Porto's London supporters club along with a cluster of other bars and restaurants which are all football mad. These include O Cantinho de Portugal on the south end of Stockwell Road, where the beer is cheap, the food authentic and the atmosphere as if you really have just walked in off the street in Lisbon. The Nacional on Old South Lambeth Road, formerly known as the Vasco Da Gama, is another popular haunt in an area where you're really spoilt for choice. If you don't fancy the trip south of the river, there's quite a big Portuguese population around Notting Hill too, while Old Street's East Village has promised to show all Portugal games. Although Portugal's golden generation has passed, Carlos Queiroz's side should push Ivory Coast all the to qualify alongside Brazil from the group - and any team who boast the mercurial talents of Ronaldo remain a force to be reckoned with.
