London area of Brompton guide
What to do and where to stay in London's Brompton neighbourhood
Nestled in the middle of very well-heeled neighbours, Sloane Square and South Kensington, Brompton is no poor relation, and it might even have a bit more street cred, having been the quarter for artists and writers in the 19th century. There are many elegant places to stay dotted around its periphery and, if these hotels are included in its list of attributes, then so too is the magnificent Victoria and Albert (V & A) Museum. There are also two contrasting styles of church to be found on Brompton Road: Brompton Oratory, strictly Roman Catholic in an impressive Italinate Renaissance building and Holy Trinity Brompton, a happy clappy evangelical church.
