London area of EC4 guide
What to do and where to stay in London's EC4 neighbourhood
Bordered by the River Thames to the south and Cheapside to the north, EC4 covers the south-western corner of the City of London and contains some notable London landmarks. St Paul's Cathedral, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, is perched atop Ludgate Hill, the highest point in the City of London, and is one of the most iconic and recognisable sights in the city. Also in the region is Fleet Street, widely regarded as the home of the British press, despite the last major news office moving out in 2005. The historic Temple Church, heavily damaged during the Second World War but largely restored to its former glories, can also be found as can the Blackfriars area, home to many investment banks and financial service companies.
