Discover dance in all its guises at this five-day festival at the Southbank Centre when international choreographers and peformers come together for 5 Days in May. Experts in the different disciplines of dance, including Siobhan Davies and Southbank Centre Artist in Residence Gauri Sharma Tripathi, discuss, perform and host workshops on the many manifestations of movement. There are live performances including David Subal's lottery Win for U - finishing with a Tea Party in the Queen Elizabeth Hall foyer. Marcella Puppini and her Forget-Me-Not Orchestra put on a late night Springtime Cabaret while highly regarded German choreographer, performer and writer Raimund Hogue stages a performance lecture in which he reinterprets ballet classics like Swan Lake. Other highlights include the London premiere of Doo a contemporary dance piece by Miguel Pereira, performed with Bernardo Fernando and, on Thursday 6th May, there's A Meeting Place when eight highly respected artists - Siobhan Davies and Candoco's Stine Nilsen and Pedro Machado among them - are invited to 'respond creatively' to questions on dance, its future and what motivates them.About Southbank Centre
