64 Bits: An exhibition of the Web's lost pastRemember what life was like before the Internet? No, neither do we. Here East is giving you the chance to delve into the early days of the World Wide Web with 64 Bits: An exhibition of the Web's lost past. The fun, interactive recreation of the early years of the Web will plug gaps in the historical record by telling the stories of the forgotten artist engineers that shaped today's digital culture. Learn about Barbadian-born Alan Emtage, who created the search engine, and designer Susan Kare, who designed numerous recognisable icons such as those for MacPaint and Microsoft Solitaire. Browse the very first website from 1991, search the web on the first search engine, order pizza on the first transactional website and create your own digital city.
