A Dance Of DeathInspired by the medieval mystery plays, Sommer 14 - A Dance of Death, is an epic telling from a German and European perspective of the world's descent into war. Employing the character of Death as a guide, the play uses the classic Danse Macabre structure of a series of vignettes to illuminate the people and events that led up to the outbreak of the First World War. It's a free adaptation by Gwynne Edwards of the original book by controversial German playwright Rolf Hochhuth. The production is part of THEGREATWAR100, a series of works at the Finborough Theatre that commemorate the centenary of the First World War, staged between 2014 and 2018.

About Finborough Theatre

The Finborough Theatre in Earls Court punches well above its weight, presenting award-winning plays and works by new writers in a small theatre above a pub. Founded in 1980, the Finborough has just 50 seats creating an intimate space for its productions which focus on developing new writing, rediscovering neglected works and presenting the best of the old and new in an eclectic programme.
