The well received 'A Doll's House' transfers to the Duke of York's Theatre this August following a successful run at the Young Vic. The sell-out success from Simon Stephens - who also worked on the multi Olivier Award-winning A Curious Incident of a Dog in the Night Time - was widely praised, "warmly recommended" (The Telegraph) and nominated for three Evening Standard Awards back in 2012 and enjoyed another successful run earlier this year. Now, the "sexy, passionate interpretation" (The Evening Standard) of Henrik Ibsen's 1879 play comes to the West End for a limited 12-week run, beginning in August. Book your tickets now for A Doll's House. Controversial at the time, A Doll's House is acutely critical of 19th century marriage norms but, despite contrary beliefs, Ibsen insisted the play was not a fight for women's rights. This revival will see Hattie Morahan and Dominic Rowan return as the title roles Nora and Torvald.
About Duke of York's Theatre
This West End theatre has more than its share of name changes. Originally called The Trafalgar in 1894, it became the Duke of York's to honour the future King George V. During the late 1990s, the name was temporarily changed to The Royal Court Theatre. More about Duke of York's Theatre
