A Small Family BusinessNigel Lindsay stars as Jack McCracken, a principled man horrified at the extent of the greed in his extended family, in A Small Family Business, Alan Ayckbourn's comedy drama written for the National Theatre in 1987 during the height of Thatcherism. Adam Penford directs this revival playing in the Olivier Theatre in which Lindsay (Olivier nominated for his lead role in 'Shrek' the musical and more recently seen in 'The Same Deep Water as Me' at the Donmar Warehouse) stars as Jack McCracken who goes from a man of principle to one of rampant self-interest and corruption with the discovery his extended family is no more than a group of thieves and adulterers.

About National Theatre: Olivier Theatre

The largest of the National Theatre's three auditoriums, the Olivier Theatre lends itself to grand spectacles staged by the National. The imposing theatre on the South Bank is the spiritual centre of London's theatreland, and the heart of the British theatrical tradition. More about National Theatre: Olivier Theatre
