Pamela Anderson is just one of all-star cast appearing in the New Wimbledon Theatre's production of Aladdin, the well-known rags-to-riches story about a boy who finds a magic lamp. Brian Blessed stars alongside a series of four 'Genies' variously played by Ruby Wax, Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Paul O'Grady who takes up the role in the New Year for his first appearance in panto since 2005. The tale is a traditional story for this time of year - when panto is seen as a perfectly acceptable form of entertainment - following the quest of a humble street boy who finds a dusty old lamp. But all is not as it seems and, with a bit of a rub, the lamp magically releases the Genie who grants Aladdin three wishes - just what he needs to win the heart of princess Badroulbadour. With such a great cast of comedians, panto professionals and one Baywatch babe lined up, we think this version of Aladdin is sure to be one of the best in London.
