AlchemyReturning to the Southbank Centre for 2016, Alchemy is a festival of South Asian culture that has grown to become the largest festival of Indian and South Asian culture outside India. Incorporating comedy, theatre, dance and music, this year's festival highlights include famed Indian musical trio Shankar-Eshaan-Loy, a new tabla concerto by Zakir Hussain, a mix of music and politics from politically active music group Laal and homegrown music collective Asian Dub Foundation, and actor, comedian and YouTube sensation Mawaan Rizwan. There will also be street food from KERB food market, a new commission from artist Nikhil Chopra and free events such as panel debates, talks, workshops and social dances.

About Southbank Centre

London's hub of cultural arts, The Southbank Centre announced in March 2013 that it's set for a £100 million revamp that will see the 1960s design finally move into the 21st century with a proposal that includes a floating glass pavilion, two more roof gardens, a space for riverside arts and a large pedestrian area.
