One of London's longest running Fireworks displays takes place at Alexandra Palace, a well-known landmark affectionately referred to as 'The People's Palace' or 'Ally Pally'. The entertainment starts from 4.30pm with funfairs in the park and a German Bier Festival in the
Great Hall with the theme extending to a traditional
Oompah Band in the West Hall. There's a long tradition of watching the fireworks on Bonfire Night here - the Victorian entertainment centre has hosted a fireworks spectacular for the past hundred years. Its elevated vantage point overlooking a
wide open parkland means there's no ugly scuffling to get to the 'best'
spot and you get marvellous views of other fireworks displays across east London illuminating the city skyline. Admission is by suggested donation and extra attractions like the ice rink and a dedicated family viewing area as well as a range of food, snacks and drinks makes this one of the better bonfire nights and a
north London institution.
