Ancient Lives: New DiscoveriesScientific analysis of mummies by the British Museum using procedures such as X-ray and CT scanning has revealed a wealth of information about how individuals lived and died in Ancient Egypt and Sudan. This exhibition will explore stories in the lives of eight mummies, all from a period of 4000 years between 3500BC and 500AD. From a priest to a temple singer to a child, get up close and personal with these individuals by understanding the food they ate, their mummification, their health and beliefs. Visitors will be invited to discover for themselves the mysteries of mummification through objects, interactive exhibits and other digital media.

About British Museum

If you wanted to thoroughly explore the British Museum, it would take months, if not years. Over seven millions objects from all over the world are housed in this impressive museum of human history and culture (many of the artefacts are stored underneath the museum due to lack of space).
