Arthur's Dream Boat: Long Nose PuppetsPolly Dunbar's delightful story of a boy and his dream boat is transferred from page to stage by the award-winning Long Nose Puppets - a theatre company set up by Dunbar and former college friend Katherine Morton. In this magical children's show, suitable for children as young as two, Arthur is trying to tell his distracted family about his amazing dream but noone is interested. Performed to a soundtrack by Tom Gray (of Gomez fame), a longtime collaborator with Dunbar, the production has a dreamlike quality but is rooted in reality. There's Arthur's brother going 'tipperty tapperty' on his keyboard, his mum whose got a lot on her plate, dad hiding behind his newspaper and baby sister busy throwing food. All aspects of modern life most families can all relate to. A delight from start to finish with a 'meet the puppets' session at the end.

About The Albany

Originally established in 1894 as the Deptford Fund, The Albany has a long history of entertaining within the Deptford community. But it was in the early 1970s that the theatre in its current guise really got going when a fringe theatre group set up home here under the direction of Paul Curno. More about The Albany
