The winning entry for 2012 by Martin Pugh shows the M51 - The Whirlpool Galaxy, a stunning image of the archetypal spiral galaxy, pictured along with finalisits for all the categories: Earth and Space, Our Solar System, Deep Space, and the Young Astronomer Photographer of the Year which was won by 15-year-old Jacob von Chorus from Canada.
