The operatic double bill of Balle Della Regina / La Sylphide is set to wow London crowds in the summer as two technically brilliant productions come together to provide a feast of ballet and dance. George Balanchine's Ballo della regina, set to the music of Guiseppe Verdi's opera Don Carlos, is an explosion of pure dance and, married with Johan Kobborg's atmospheric drama La Sylphide, it creates the ultimate ballet experience. La Sylphide is one of the world's oldest surviving romantic ballets. Held at the Royal Opera House, the show runs throughout the end of May and into the first two weeks of June.About Royal Opera House
This impressive building in the heart of Covent Garden has been playing host to major stars of the classical music world since 1858. The third theatre to be located on this site, today's Royal Opera House is the result of a reconstruction in the 1990s (although the main auditorium is part of the original building).
