Jonathan Harvey's award-winning play, Beautiful Thing, comes to the Arts Theatre. Directed by Nikolai Foster and starring Coronation Street's Suranne Jones, the urban love story sees Jamie and Ste come to grips with their sexuality and its immediate effect on their loved ones. Filled with comedy, warmth and plenty of music, the play depicts what it is to be sweet sixteen and utterly love struck for the very first time. The Arts Theatre was built in 1927 as a members club, which allowed it to circumvent the censorship laws and perform unusual and avant garde fare.
