Leaving aside the obvious dangers of combining free ice cream with high-speed rides, the return of Ben & Jerry's Sundae Festival is great news. This sweet little kids-and-grown-ups party on Clapham Common has a city farm, traditional fairground and a very decent selection of easy-listening musicians, including Super Furry Animals, Teenage Fanclub and I Am Kloot (on the Saturday), followed by The Human League, Camera Obscura and The Futureheads on the Sunday. The very reasonably priced tickets (and quite possibly the whiff of free ice cream) mean that this popular event has already sold out. This family festival has a far more chilled out atsmophere than the other summer events on Clapham Common - see Metro Weekender to compare and contrast.
