Marc Quinn - best known for his Alison Lapper Pregnant sculpture which occupied the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square - is among the celebrities taking part in Blank Canvas, an art exhibition with a difference in Carnaby Street. Annie Lennox and Rankin join Quinn in contributing their life drawings, posting the results alongside works by members of the public. But what's most extraordinary about this free art event is that it's been put together by an 18 year old school kid. One to watch, Josef Valentino came up with the idea for an artist community where London creatives can share their ideas. Pollocks London is the result. What started as a blog at http://pollockslondon.blogspot.com has now extended to the street with this exhibition. His tips for aspiring young artists? "Being an artist is tough but the rewards are huge. Believe in yourself and strive, strive again."
Nightly open mic sessions take place throughout the opening week with daily performances at 6.30pm from the likes of beatboxers Beat Poetry and DJ sets from Flash Louis.
