"I had a choice of two professions: comedian or traffic warden," explains Boe the Comedian, whose second one-man show of 2009, Did I Say That Out Loud?, hits the Shaw Theatre for a one-off charity night this autumn. "I figured either way people would have to watch out for me." We know very little about the show except that it's a hybrid of stand-up and off-the-wall sketches that, given the title, will probably prove a little risqué. The self-styled "enemy of the stupid", cheeky North Londoner Boe has a reputation for light-hearted, odd and often twisted sketches and a quick trudge around the net uncovers one skit involving Nigeria's "first white president" with Boe assuming the role of deadpan news presenter. His stand-up material is said to be more erudite and intelligent, so this should prove a varied evening of entertainment. Hosted by popular comic Rudi Lickwood, Did I Say That Out Loud? is brought to the stage in support of Kids Company, the South London charity aimed at promoting the development of vulnerable inner-city children and young people.
