Fresh from their all-important work at the X-Factor finals (ensuring that the strange Egghorn creature didn't release a chart-topping version of Hallelujah) Boyzone return to live performance, determined to match Take That in the comeback stakes. Though they sold almost as many records, Boyzone never generated the same levels of hysteria as their 90s rivals and it's hard to picture them dancing their way into national treasure status the way Gary and the boys did (especially since the nearest they've come to dancing in the last decade has been standing up from their stools for the key change). You see, they're about as edgy and relevant as Barlow is podgy and brilliant - so it looks like they will finish second in the race yet again. Nonetheless, there are still a vast number of true believers out there - what other Boyband could have got away with releasing a B-sides and rarities album - and tickets will sell fast for this reunion, which includes two dates at and a double night swansong at the O2 Arena.About The O2 Arena
The centrepiece of the newly redeveloped Millennium Dome is the O2 Arena, the first purpose-built music venue in London. With a capacity of 23,000, it is already offering the rather soulless Wembley Arena some serious competition. Big name acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Killers, Justin Timberlake, Girls Aloud and Tina Turner have performed on stage, with the likes of Beyonce, AC/DC, Kings of Leon and Britney Spears set to appear in 2009.
