Samba stars Brazil take on the Republic of Ireland at the Emirates for this Tuesday night clash which could possibly have been a World Cup warm-up game had Thierry Henry not had a hand in the matter. As it is, a dejected Ireland team turn out for the first time since France so cruelly palmed away their World Cup qualifying dream last November. With the vast majority of their European friendlies taking place at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, opponents Brazil will effectively be playing at home as squad players battle it out for a place on the plane to South Africa. There should be some familiar faces on show, with former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto, scorer of the Gunners' first ever goal at the Emirates, likely to be involved, as well as former Arsenal loan player Julio Baptista and summer target Felipe Melo. Both sets of fans for this match will not be segregated but you can expect a friendly, convivial atmosphere for this clash, which will hopefully be a good natured celebration of football.
