With winter (hopefully) drawing to an end and the longer spring days fast approaching, enjoy one of the main components of the English summer - but without its most lamentable ingredients: wasps and rain. Taking over the West End's Future Gallery for eight days this March, Café du Pique-Nique will provide visitors an indoor oasis of calm, with a near-real green turf floor, traditional picnic food on offer and special lighting which will recreate indoors the bright rays of the midday sun. Brought to you by the Robin Collective, a team of young creative types under the wing of the infamous jellymongers Bompas & Parr, this glorious indoor al fresco event will keep picnickers entertained with a whole hamper of events throughout the week, including the UK film premiere of Werner Herzog's Incident at Loch Ness (Wed 17th March), the Courvoisier Punch & Folk festival (Sat 20th March), cartwheel master-classes, story telling and sensory stimulation nights. The café will cater for your every needs, offering a selection of Courvoisier summer punches, Prosecco, smoked salmon sandwiches, strawberries, award-winning Aspalls cider, pork pies and homemade cakes. So, roll out your picnic rug on the grass, take off your shoes, sit back and soak up the perfect pre-summer picnic vibe. Now if only the space was big enough for croquet? Check www.cafedupiquenique.co.uk for more information.
COMPETITION: To win a pair of tickets to the Courvoisier Folk and Punch Festival on Saturday 20th March simply tell us what colour the floors will be during the Café du Pique-Nique week at the Future Gallery. Send your answer to competitions@londontown.com by midday on Monday 15th March with Pique-Nique in the subject header. First drawn out of the hat wins... Good luck!
