Each year, Burgess Park becomes a little corner of Latin America when the annual loud and colourful Carnaval del Pueblo celebrates all things Latino with a day of music, dance and carnival fun. This temporary exhibition at the Cuming Museum in Southwark is a celebration of what is the largest Latin American carnival in Europe, a tradition that has been going since 1999. Through displays of costumes, designs and crafts, film and oral narratives, visitors can trace the impact made by the Latin American community in London.About Cuming Museum
The worldwide collection of the Cuming Family accompanies exhibitions on the history of Southwark (from Roman times to the 19th century) in this unique museum. The permanent exhibition at the Cuming Museum, housed in Old Walworth Town Hall, takes up two of the museum's three galleries and includes many strange and wonderful objects and curiosities from a collection amassed between 1780 and 1900.
