Castiglione: Lost Genius Italian Baroque artist Gionvanni Benedetto Castiglione was arguably one of the most innovative draughtsmen of the 17th century. Unfortunately, his artistic brilliance was overshadowed during his lifetime by the turbulence that characterised his life. It is alleged that he attempted to throw his sister off a roof, and was cast out of Rome, most likely for committing murder. This is the first major exhibition in the UK of his work and, by showing 90 drawings and prints from the Royal Collection, it seeks to cement his reputation as one of the great artists of the Baroque period.

About The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace

Once Buckingham Palace's resident chapel, the Queen's Gallery was opened in 1962 and holds regularly changing exhibitions. It allows the general public glimpses of rarely seen works of art from the Royal Collection, one of the finest art collections in the world. More about The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace
