Chamber Classics Unwrapped Celebrating the association that Kings Place has with chamber music, this year-long festival sees them depart from the usual standard of 'unwrapping' a single composer - 2013 was dedicated to Bach - and instead present a series of concerts presenting the top fifty chamber works, which were chosen with the help of an online poll launched with BBC Music Magazine. The festival also provides musicians with the freedom to curate their own concerts, resulting in Beethoven being paired with John Adams or Herrmann's Psycho Suite, Ravel served with Birtwistle, and Brahms with Ligeti. Children are treated to Dirty Beasts and Carnival of the Animals while a number of Baroque evenings will suit those who were not ready to depart with the Bach season. Plus, a Musical Brain Day examines the psychology of our relationship with music.

About Kings Place

Just 150 metres from King's Cross and St Pancras stations and with a waterside setting, the Dixon-Jones designed Kings Place combines the offices of The Guardian newspaper with a concert hall and two art galleries. As you'd expect from the architects behind the recent improvements to the Royal Opera House and National Portrait Gallery it's a well designed complex of curvaceous surfaces and appealing public spaces.
