Another new show arrives on the wonderfully original bill at the Menier Chocolate Factory theatre. With a glittering star-studded line up, Charley's Aunt looks set to sell-out quicker than you can say Fancourt Babberley, which is the role Mathew Horne takes on as he steps away from the camera and onto the stage in this new production. Famed for his roles in hit comedies Gavin and Stacey, The Catherine Tate Show and The Smoking Room (BBC3), Horne will be joined by iconic British actress Jane Asher, whose acting credentials span from starring opposite Michael Caine in Alfie to medical soap-opera Holby City. She plays Donna Lucia, Charley's Aunt who is visiting from Brazil and is due to act as a chaperone to her nephew and his friend as they plan to woo their sweethearts into accepting marriage proposals. But as Donna Lucia becomes delayed, Charley and his friend Jack's romantic plans are thrown into disarray. Leading them to take matters into their own hands and seek an alternative chaperone to pose as Charley's aunt. The Brandon Thomas comedy also stars esteemed actors Norman Pace, Charles Kay and Steven Pacey and is directed by Ian Talbot.

About Menier Chocolate Factory

Housed in a former chocolate factory, this innovative theatre has rapidly established itself as one of London's best. Since opening in 2004, it has had half-a-dozen West End transfers, most of them slick revivals of recent plays and musicals, including Merrily We Roll Along, A Little Night Music, Sunday in the Park With George, Dealer's Choice, and Little Shop of Horrors.
