Founded in 1913, the Chelsea Flower Show is extraordinary - famous around the world as the premier event of its kind. The greatest exponents of imaginative garden design create a wonderland over an 11-acre site in Chelsea’s Royal Hospital Gardens.
At the centre of the show, the Great Pavilion (which made its spectacular debut in 2004) showcases a dazzling array of plants from across the globe, including brand new, never seen before plant varieties. It houses over 100 floral displays, from leading UK and international exhibitors. These range from first-timers such as Borneo Exotics, a carnivorous plants specialist based in Sri Lanka, to Chelsea veterans such as Hillier Nurseries, who are hoping for their sixtieth consecutive RHS Gold Medal.
Always innovative and using styles and techniques from around the globe, the model gardens form the centrepiece of an astounding show. Most of London society, including the Queen, regards the Chelsea Flower Show as a highpoint of the London summer season, so if you get bored of the flowers you can have a great time celeb-spotting.
This beautiful and inspiring event is a real treat, even for non-gardeners.
