Back at the Southbank Centre for its sixth year, Chorus is a celebration of the voice and the power of singing. This year's festival coincides with the Pull Out All The Stops Festival, a celebration of the restoration of the Royal Festival Hall's iconic organ which introduces eight new works and includes celebrity recitals. Further highlights of the 2014 programme include two performances by the Simon Bolivar National Youth Choir of Venezuela, workshops of Maurice Durufle's 'Requiem', and David Greig's 'The Events', his new play with 250 singers at its heart. Chorus embraces all genres of music and welcomes gospel, indie, world music, acapella and classical all to the line-up. Many of the events are free and audiences are encouraged to join in for some, particularly the sing-along events like 'Pitch Bach' where you can learn a Bach chorale in 60 minutes, 'Find Your Voice' - an hour-long workshop culminating in a group performance, and Voicelab, the Southbank Centre's year-round vocal project which invites everyone to explore their voice.

About Southbank Centre

London's hub of cultural arts, The Southbank Centre announced in March 2013 that it's set for a £100 million revamp that will see the 1960s design finally move into the 21st century with a proposal that includes a floating glass pavilion, two more roof gardens, a space for riverside arts and a large pedestrian area.
