The Southbank Centre's Slow Food Market is a welcome addition to the Christmas shopping options when it comes to buying good quality food. The selected traders have been specially chosen for their green credentials and sustainable farming methods. As well as the stalls on Southbank Centre Square there's a demo tent where you can pick up tips on Christmas menus from the experts. Caterer Sarah Moore demonstrates how to cook for a larger numbers - working within the music and film business means she has had plenty of experience in effortless entertaining. There are mulled wines and Christmas booze tips from Green and Blue proposes, vegetarian Christmas options from vegetarian chef Anna Robertson, and Caribbean Christmas desserts courtesy of Coleen Shelswell from Clara's Caribbean Kitchen. And if you're fed up with being forced to eat brussel sprouts, catch Mark Temple, an organic farmer from Kent, who'll be exploring less traditional side dish alternatives.About Southbank Centre Square
Next to the Royal Festival Hall and often used by the Southbank Centre for outdoor events and food fairs, Southbank Centre Square is an open pedestrianised space among the modernist concrete blocks.
