Cinderella

The Theatre Royal Stratford East's annual pantomime is a revival of dynamic duo Trish Cooke and Robert Hyman's Olivier-nominated 2007 production of Cinderella. Last year's Little Red Riding Hood won plaudits from far and wide - "This team is capable of wonderful things," said The Times - and local theatre-goers last Christmas voted (at the TRSE's Open Stage project) for this winter's panto to be a remake of the 2007 Cinderella - but with a twist. Promising both sparkle and a few familiar faces, the production will be a whirlwind of lost crystal slippers, a handsome prince, and not one, but three deliciously dames (both the Ugly Sisters and the Wicket Step-Mother will be played by men in frocks). This classic tale is perfect for the whole family, features an original score and is directed by Artistic Director Kerry Michael with Matthew Xia.
