Classic Cut will revisit the past and welcome the present as it offers a combination of classic and new work from iconic choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh. Configurations; a 1989 collaboration between Jeyasingh and renowned composer Michael Nyman was one of the first to be showcased from Jeyasingh's company and was highly reviewed for its exceptional speed and beautiful detail. Jeyasingh will be providing audiences with a glimpse back at this piece of work as well as the premiere of her new show. The yet to be titled piece will be a vibrant and dramatic one that explores the theatrical genre of Indian dance. Newly commissioned composer and sound artist Niraj Chag who has worked on Rafta Rafta and BAFTA nominated Power of Art on BBC2 will feature.
About Linbury Studio Theatre
Part of the Royal Opera House, the Linbury Studio Theatre seats up to 394 people in theatre style. The studio can also be hired for private events and can be adjusted to accommodate 400 for a standing reception, 300 for banqueting and 250 for a dinner and dance. More about Linbury Studio Theatre
