Classical SpectacularThis four-day visual extravaganza may be baulked at by classical diehards and orchestral purists, but so are the Proms - and they're still an integral part of the classical calendar. Seen by more than two million people worldwide, Classical Spectacular features some of the world's most popular classical music - including some brand new pieces - alongside a breathtaking light and laser display in the iconic Royal Albert Hall. Two hundred performers fill the stage, building up to a crescendo of cannons and indoor fireworks set alongside the Tchaikovsky's bombastic 1812 Overture. The Russian composer may turn in his grave to see his work so glaringly popularised, but he couldn't deny it was to stunning effect.

About Royal Albert Hall

Classical music, rock, pop and jazz, sporting events, galas, banquets and balls and the world-famous Proms series all take place within the Royal Albert Hall's iconic oval walls. One of London's most versatile venues, it is a favourite of performers from Jose Carreras to Kylie Minogue. More about Royal Albert Hall
