The annual Comica Festival is a celebration of the graphic novel in all its guises, including a raft of exhibitions, talks, films and discussions which centre on comics in a variety of formats from the classic British humour of Viz to children's books like Sarah McIntyre's Mankiest Monster. Usually held in November, Comica are now launching a new spring Comica Comiket at the Bishopsgate Institute. Guest appearances will include the likes of John Allison, webtooinst extraordinaire behind Scary Go Round; Tom Gaul, responsible for new graphic novel Goliath and Andy Watson, launching his wacky all-ages superheroine from Walker Books. The main stage will once again be featured, where top creators get to take to the stage for 30 minute slots to show off some improvised drawings. See the official website for the full details and line up. About Bishopsgate Institute
