Craft Beer Rising is a new festival dedicated to the increasing interest and innovative in beer industry in the UK. The unique event brings together over 40 top breweries, some of London's finest street food and music to dance to headed by Norman Jay MBE. Breweries confirmed so far include: Bath Ales, St Austell and London's very own Meantime, whose brewery at Blackwall Lane in Greenwich is regularly open for tours. There's a variety of other attractions throughout the festival at The Old Truman Brewery. Ben McFarland and Tom Sandham bring a new version of their 'Thinking Drinker' show, previously seen at the Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre. And Heriott-Watt University, a renowned centre for brewing and distilling, will teach you all you need to know about creating craft at their Beer Lab. The Friday morning session, from 11am to 6pm, is free and for trade only.
About The Old Truman Brewery
Popular with the Shoreditch crowd on the weekends, The Old Truman Brewery houses more than 200 small, creative businesses, a bar and several areas for hire. It encompasses 19 buildings, linked by a series of alleyways and courtyards, but the main area - the Boiler House - is easily identified by its 49-metre chimneystack with 'Truman' written up the side.
