This special Guerrilla Craft Christmas Market at the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow is an ideal opportunity to see the wares of professional craft makers. The brainchild of three east London-based designers, Guerrilla Craft are frequently found running craft courses across London, encouraging us to create our own stuff. Everyone is welcome, from beginners upwards, and they supply the craft kits and tuition you need. But for their Christmas Market no creative skills are necessary, you can just stroll around the stalls feasting your eyes on the contemporary crafts and one-off designer pieces that some lucky person will be getting for Christmas. The William Morris Gallery, once home to the influential craftsman best known for his wallpaper designs, has one of the richest collections of art & craft in the country so it's appropriate that the 'Guerrillas' are having their Christmas Market here. Try your luck at the tombola, take home something you won't find on the high street and, if all goes according to plan, a local choir will perform some seasonal tunes to get you in the festive spirit.About William Morris Gallery
This mid-18th century house, the boyhood home of William Morris, has a permanent exhibition on his life and work - including wallpapers, fabrics, carpets and stained glass.
