Showcasing works by twenty artisans, Craft into Industry explores the relationship between British studio practice and the ceramics industry. Artists and makers include Janice Tchalenko, a ceramic artist and a fellow of the Royal College of Art whose poppy plates are available at John Lewis, Daphne Carnegy, Heather Belcher, Natasha Daintry and Asta Barrington who creates carefully handcrafted contemporary embroidered scarves and throws.

 

About Contemporary Applied Arts

Founded in 1948 to promote and champion British craft, Contemporary Applied Arts operates a modern gallery space at 89 Southwark Street as a showcase of the work of more than 300 creative members, from established names to recent graduates. Showing contemporary ceramics, glass, textiles, wood, precious and non-precious jewellery, furniture and metal from Britain, the gallery has an annual programme of changing exhibitions as well as one-off special events.
