Crystal Palace FireworksCrystal Palace Park has been the site of Fireworks displays for 150 years and this year the long tradition continues as Bonfire Night is marked with two magnificent fireworks shows - one quieter event for children followed by a larger (and louder) display for adults at 8.30pm, set to last approximately 25 minutes. In addition to the fireworks displays there are stalls selling food and drink. We think C.T. Brock of the Brock's firework company who first set off fireworks at Crystal Palace Park in 1865 with a "Grand Competition of Pyrotechnists" would be happy that the tradition he started continues today. The consumption of alcohol and personal use of fireworks is strictly prohibited at this event, and no dogs are permitted (except assistance dogs).

Although Sir Joseph Paxton‚€™s Crystal Palace - first erected in Hyde Park for the Great Exhibition of 1851 and moved here a couple of years later - was destroyed by fire in 1936, Crystal Palace Park and its beautifully landscaped 200 acres remain to be enjoyed. More about Crystal Palace Park
