Daniel Sloss: My GenerationIt will be interesting to see where 19-year-old comic prodigy Daniel Sloss draws his material from once he grows up. Up until now, his entire raison d'etre has been the fact that he's a young buck performing in front of audiences much older than him. But where black comedians will always be black, female comedians female, and gay comedians gay, in a few months time Sloss will no longer be the teenager he so revels being and so will have to develop his entire repertoire. All the more reason to enjoy his new show My Generation while you can - especially given the rave reviews it earned for the Fife youngster during this summer's Edinburgh festival. Sloss entered the fray as a 16 year old and was soon writing material for acerbic comedian Frankie Boyle for the BBC's Mock The Week. Last year, Sloss became the youngest stand-up to perform a solo season in London's West End and he's even recently been commissioned by the BBC for a sitcom pilot. My Generation, on at the Soho Theatre for six nights, deals with the ups and downs of teenage life, focussing on the usual suspects of sex, girlfriends, parents and having fun. An innuendo-filled story reminiscence of learning to shave and a rather gross anecdote about a girl who fell into a loo at a music festival also showcase Sloss's skills as a raconteur. "Nothing short of hysterical," says the Sunday Express.

About Soho Theatre

The Soho Theatre Company was formed in 1969 by Verity Bargate and Fred Proud, but it didn't have a permanent home until 2000, when its current Dean Street location opened. This modern space was the first theatre to be built with National Lottery money. More about Soho Theatre
