The finals of the Danone Nations Cup, a football tournament for children aged 10 to 12 years old, takes place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 7th September, showcasing the future stars of the beautiful game on the biggest stage in the UK. The cup competition features teams from 32 different countries and is the largest football tournament of its kind in the world. This is the first time in the event's 14-year history that the Danone Nations Cup comes to Wembley, and the players will be performing in front of the likes of international legend Zinedine Zidane, the tournament's global ambassador, and Blackpool FC's Tom Ince. The event promises to be an action-packed family day out and will include a special performance from Britain's Got Talent winners, Diversity, interactive football sessions led by top professionals and a host of exciting activities designed to help budding players and kids of all ages learn how to 'Eat Like a Champ'. Last year's finals in Warsaw were attended by 40 teams, 40,000 spectators and 250 journalists - so expect quite an afternoon of fun football activity, all for just a fiver.
The national stadium of the England football team, Wembley Stadium was re-opened in 2007 after a full rebuild to the tune of Â£757 million. The second largest stadium in Europe, Wembley took over three years to build and is located on the site of the previous 1923 Wembley Stadium, often referred to as 'The Twin Towers' or Empire Stadium, which was demolished in 2003.
