The Latin fever continues at Sadler's Wells this spring when Danza Contemporanea de Cuba, Cuba's famous dance company, comes to London for two nights only as part of a UK tour to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Twenty one dancers from Danza Contemporanea have been working with well known Swedish choreographer Mats Ek and George Cespedes to present a double bill of works. Ek's new work, Casi-Casa, is a 45-minute performance, a combination of his works The Apartment and 'Fluke' and first premiered in Havana in December last year. To follow, we have Cespedes' Mambo 3XXI which he describes as an insight into how the kids will be dancing in the clubs come the third millennium. Through the classical ballet training and athletic moves of the dancers, traditional Cuban dance is mixed with contemporary moves as well as a healthy dose of Afro-Caribbean and Spanish styles. If their 2008 performance with Carlos Aosta at the London Coliseum's Spring Dance is anything to go by, this will be the stuff of standing ovations.About Sadler's Wells Theatre
