Dayanita Singh: Go Away CloserThe first UK retrospective of a major body of work by the Delhi-based photographer, Dayanita Singh: Go Away Closer at the Hayward Gallery is the most important show of her works to date. It's a busy time for the photographer who returned to the Venice Biennale earlier in the year exhibiting her work alongside Ai Weiwei, Romuald Karmakar and Santu Mofokeng in the German pavilion. This October exhibition at the Hayward Gallery sees her exploring and challenging the boundaries and practice of photography as an artistic medium. The exhibition takes its name from her 2007 book, Go Away Closer, "a peerless production", according to the Financial Times who says, "no one is better than the Delhi-based photographer at hinting at labyrinths beyond the image in her lens".
