Nearby Deathtrap

Deathtrap returns to the West End stage this summer featuring an all-star cast including Simon Russell Beale, Glee star Jonathan Groff, Outnumbered's Claire Skinner and Academy Award-winning actress Estelle Parsons. A celebrated thriller, Deathtrap is the tale of bestselling author Sidney Bruhl, (Beale) who is suffering from writer's block and who, while waiting for inspiration, receives a script from former student Clifford Anderson (Groff) and becomes consumed with jealousy as he realises his student has written the perfect thriller. Bruhl decides there is only one way of fixing his jealousy, he must kill Clifford and claim the play for himself. Made into a feature film in 1982 starring Michael Caine as Bruhl and the late Christopher Reeve as Clifford, Deathtrap is written by acclaimed playwright Ira Levin, whose other work includes The Stepford Wives, Rosemary's Baby, The Boys from Brazil and A Kiss Before Dying. Previews start on 20th August although the proper run starts on 17th September.About Noel Coward Theatre
