The great Victorian novelist celebrates his bicentennial year in 2012, so it's no surprise that the people at Charles Dickens Museum have planned a wonderful array of events to toast the writer's legacy. Weekly Dickensian walks will depart from the novelist's only surviving home at 48 Doughty Street. Set out through the chilly streets of London just as Dickens would have nearly 200 years ago. Guides will take you through the city stopping at spots of historical interest, you will hear readings and frequent a few of the locations the author would have visited. The tour takes roughly 90 minutes, with a drink stop along the way and finishes at St Paul's station. Booking is highly recommended.

About Charles Dickens Museum

Charles Dickens brought London to life with his imaginative depictions of city life and his fascination and passion for the foggy Victorian streets have inspired two centuries of readers. His iconic characters such as Fagin, Scrooge, Guppy, Artful Dodger and Magwitch have seeped into London's historical fabric and his fictional scenes have ingrained themselves in our everyday culture.
