Dirty Rotten Scoundrels After being staged in the West End with 'My Family' actor Robert Lindsay, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is now going on tour, coming to the New Wimbledon Theatre on 20 th October for four nights. The cast this time round includes Michael Praed, Noel Sullivan, Carley Stenson and Gary Wilmot. The story follows sophisticated conman Lawrence Jameson who is staying in the luxurious world of the French Riviera when he finds his way of life under threat with the arrival of a different style of conman, the larger-than-life Freddy Benson, played by Alex Gaumond. They both realise that the town is not big enough for them both in this musical comedy, which was originally a 1988 film starring Michael Caine. This "highly entertaining and slickly staged show" ( The Telegraph) "takes us back to the all-but-lost era of musical comedy" (The Guardian).

 

About Savoy Theatre

This elegant Art Deco theatre opened in 1881, financed by Richard d'Oyly Carte, who had banked a fortune from Gilbert and Sullivan's operettas. The Savoy Theatre was originally meant to be a showcase for opera, but it was not a success. More about Savoy Theatre
