Displays of Power: A Natural History of EmpireTaking a closer look at how Empire shaped the Grant Museum of Zoology collections, Displays of Power will make you look at natural history museums in a more critical light. University College London's zoology collections contain a staggering number of specimens - estimated at more than 68,000 - and this free exhibition, curated by the Zoology and Science Collections team at UCL Culture, places them in the context of Empire. Learn about the colonial contexts in which the Grant Museum of Zoology and UCL were founded and consider what lessons we can keep in mind for the future.

About Grant Museum of Zoology

University College London's Grant Museum of Zoology houses around 62,000 specimens amounting to a diverse natural history collection covering the whole of the animal kingdom. Founded in 1827, the museum retains an air of the avid Victorian collector with cases packed full of skeletons, mounted animals and specimens preserved in fluid. More about Grant Museum of Zoology
